"A Melting Pot Stay"

Chad and Cierra came to stay with us because a friend was celebrating their birthday. They visited the Melting Pot restaurant, of which they shared was a great experience - a fondue dinner event.

Chad complemented me on our web marketing strategy as he said it was very easy for him to find us. yeah!

"We came to beautiful SA for a friends birthday. It's a shame we could only stay one night. The colorful building, friendly staff, and lovely room made the stay very pleasant. We awoke to the riverwalk in the morning sun and Betty's delicious blueberry pancakes waiting for us across the street.
We can't wait to return and see the renovations complete".

THANK YOU SAN ANTONIO FOOD BANK!

Each year, Scott and I decided to donate a room to a family having a harder time than usual. This year, I asked the San Antonio Food Bank if they knew of a family that could stay with us for a few days.

David, Debbie and their sons, Cory and Cameron came to stay and enjoy downtown over Christmas. Their stay and gratitude made our Christmas complete. There were a lot of tears of joy at the onset of their stay (as we received a special handmade gift from Cameron), during and when they left. I even had tears recanting their story . . . the family had been homeless and although, the sweetest soul ever, Cameron (12) is disabled.
When I showed them their room, Debbie cried with joy over the river view. She thought, she might get a room with a slight view - but the room had a balcony overlooking the river, so they could all sit out and enjoy. They received some gifts donated from The San Antonio Art Meet Up Group - raised from Dec's first friday event at the Inn. Here's an excerpt from Debbie's farewell thank you letter to us:

Johanna and Scott,
Our hearts touched beyond words can express - close to tears in fact, we all discovered the many wonderful gifts (our sons excited about the movie card!) and myself with the beautiful ornaments and chocolates! And David, my husband, very deeply touched with what he found - he will happily use for our family on the river!
Having shared your Christmas with us had made possible 'It's a wonderful Life', Christmas time experience for our family. Each of us feel such a warmth and our hearts bounding with joy! Our 16 year old has told us this is a GREAT Christmas! and Cameron had not stopped smiling!
We feel so HAPPY! & honored to have known you both and opening your hearts and home to us!

I want to personally give a BIG shout out to The SA Food bank......they not only helped providing the connection to this wonderful family - but Yvonne, who'd I'd originally spoken to about the search for a family, came to visit the Inn and dropped off the most WONDERFUL cookies and gifts!! The SA Food Bank has their own catering company and school.

"Coming from Australia primarily to NY, we chose San Antonio to recover from jet lag because of it's reputation as a small city area flanked by a lovely riverwalk, it's Texan/Mexican blend and it's warmth of hospitality.
We specifically chose the Inn on the Riverwalk because it looked so homely, relaxed and atmosphere.
All our expectations in every regard were met in abundance and when you add the great assistance provided by Scott, we say a sincere thanks and can thouroughly recommend the Inn".

This beautiful couple stayed in our penthouse for a week, when it came to check out they wanted to stay another few days - however much we would have loved to have had them - we were sold out that weekend. They had to go home ...but later that night Rose wrote us an email:

"We did enjoy our time there with you and your mom and Lydia sorry. I didn't get to say bye to Lydia. All of you were more like family. It felt like we were staying at home with relatives we hadn't seen in months; at least that's the way ya'll made me feel. We made it home safe. Let Betty know that I will be emailing her. Just a quick note to tell you again how much we enjoyed your inn. It was perfect in our minds and suited us to a T. Your warm welcome and friendly advice and conversation were much appreciated as well. We very much enjoyed San Antonio and would not hesitate for a second to book your inn again.
Our exploration of Texas was great fun, and if we could just fly around blizzards instead of right into them- we would have had an easier time getting home. Saturday turned into a long day, as we could get to Detroit , but not to London , Ontario . We finally got home at 5:30 am on Sunday after leaving you at 5:30 am Sat morning. Should have stayed !!!

Johanna and Scott,

Gary and I both loved our stay for New Years at your beautiful place! The Inn on the Riverwalk is in a perfect place for a quick walk to all the action downtown, yet far enough away when it gets too busy & crowded. The Room was beautiful and best of all....the bed was "soft" and comfortable!

Breakfast the next morning was delicious and we thouroughly enjoyed the company of Jan King and her family! Even the couple that came in at the last minute and stayed in the penthouse were fun!

I will be sure and spread the word of your beautiful establishment!

Great location - we had a wonderful stay here! The owner/staff were incrediably helpful, friendly and GENEROUS!. This was a very nice departure from your standard hotel lodging. A feeling "Home" - a breath of fresh air. And it's always fun to meet other guests in the breakfast room and compare travel notes. We'll be recommending Inn on the Riverwalk to others....Thank you!
